Vehicle Fitment

Vehicle graphics need a clean fit if they are going to look sharp and last on the road. We fit decals, lettering and branding carefully to reduce bubbles, misalignment and wasted material.

What Our Vehicle Fitment Covers

We fit printed and cut vinyl graphics onto bakkies, panel vans, delivery vehicles, trailers and light commercial fleets from our Boksburg base. The work is suited to local conditions too, from hot inland sun in Germiston to the damp air closer to the East Rand and coastal freight routes, where edges can lift if the surface prep is rushed.

Vehicle fitment can cover single names and phone details, full side branding, tailgate graphics, safety markings, reflective strips, magnetic panels and fleet numbering. We also work on one-off jobs for estate agents, contractors, schools and small traders who need a tidy result without paying for unnecessary extras.

  • Cut vinyl lettering for doors, bonnets, load bins and tailgates
  • Printed decals and contour-cut graphics
  • Reflective safety tape and warning strips
  • Fleet numbering and asset labels
  • Removable or permanent fitments depending on the use case

How We Prepare A Vehicle Before Fitting

Good fitment starts before the vinyl comes out of the tube. We check the vehicle panel by panel for wax, dust, polish residue, road film and old adhesive. If there is a previous graphic still on the body, we remove it properly and clean the surface so the new work bonds well. That step matters, because even a small amount of grit can trap air and spoil an otherwise neat job.

We also confirm placement with the client before fitting starts. That includes spacing around handles, rub strips, seams, fuel flaps and body curves. On vans and bakkies, one side can look different to the other so we measure carefully instead of guessing.

  • Surface wash and dry before application
  • Adhesive and residue removal where needed
  • Panel measurement and alignment checks
  • Positioning confirmed before final sticking

For fleets and repeat jobs, we keep the artwork on file and note the dimensions for future units. That saves time when a new vehicle joins the line-up or a replacement panel needs to be branded later on.

The Fitment Process From Marking Out To Final Check

Our installation team follows a simple process that keeps the finish consistent. First, the vehicle is parked in a clean area with enough space to open doors and work around both sides. We mark the positions lightly, then apply the vinyl with care, using measured pressure so the film settles flat without stretching or creasing. On larger panels we work from the centre outward to push air away as we go.

Small details make a difference here. Lettering has to read straight from a distance, and graphics must sit level even when the body line slopes slightly. If the panel has rivets, ridges or deep curves, we choose the fitting method to suit the shape rather than forcing the vinyl to behave a certain way.

  • Dry application for most lettering and panels
  • Wet application only where the material and surface allow it
  • Edge sealing on tricky panels when required
  • Final wipe-down and inspection before handover

We also check visibility after fitment, especially on safety markings and fleet identification. If the artwork is for a work vehicle that carries tools, stock or staff, the branding should be clear but not interfere with mirrors, door handles or lights.

Turnaround Times For Local Jobs And Fleets

Simple vehicle lettering can often be turned around quickly, while larger full-side branding or multi-vehicle fleet work needs a proper booking window. Turnaround depends on the artwork, the number of vehicles, the amount of prep needed and whether the fitment is at our workshop or on site. We work across Ekurhuleni and greater Gauteng, so planning the route and the install sequence matters too.

For a single bakkie or panel van, many jobs can be completed within 1 to 3 working days after artwork sign-off, depending on the queue and material availability. Fleet rollouts, reflective safety work and jobs needing old graphic removal can take longer. If the vehicle is used daily, we can often schedule outside peak trading hours to limit downtime.

  • Single vehicle lettering: usually 1 to 3 working days
  • Multi-vehicle fleet branding: planned per vehicle count and layout
  • Removal and replacement jobs: allow extra time for adhesive cleanup
  • On-site fitting available for larger or booked fleet work

We keep communication practical. If a job needs drying time after washing or if rain is expected, we say so upfront rather than rushing the install and causing problems later.

Pricing Based On Material, Surface And Labour

Vehicle fitment pricing is not one-size-fits-all. A plain name and contact number on a door costs far less than full side graphics, reflective marking or a wrap-style layout with multiple colours. The final price depends on the size of the artwork, the material used, the number of panels, whether old graphics must come off and whether the vehicle is fitted at our premises or on site.

We quote in a practical way so clients can choose what fits the job and the budget. If a company is rolling out 10 or 20 vehicles, we can price the repeat units accordingly. If it is a single trade bakkie for a local contractor, we keep the setup lean and avoid adding items that are not needed.

  • Material choice: standard vinyl, printed film, reflective film or magnetic panels
  • Surface condition: new paint, older paint, textured panels or old adhesive
  • Complexity: straight lettering versus contoured or multi-panel work
  • Quantity: single unit pricing or fleet rates

We do not cut corners just to hit a low number. A neat fit that lasts is better value than a cheap job that starts lifting after a few sun cycles and wash downs.

Maintenance And Refit Intervals For Working Vehicles

Vehicle graphics need basic care to stay presentable, especially on work vehicles that see dust, rain and regular washing. We suggest a gentle hand wash for the first few days after fitting, then normal washing with mild soap and soft cloths. High-pressure spray should not be held too close to the edges, and solvents should be avoided unless a section is being removed on purpose.

Most correctly fitted vinyl should give years of service, but the actual life depends on exposure, storage and how often the vehicle is parked in full sun. In high heat areas or on vehicles that sit outdoors every day, we recommend checking edges and corners every few months. If a vehicle is being rebranded or sold, we can remove the old graphics and prepare it for a fresh fit.

  • First wash: wait as advised after fitment
  • Routine cleaning: mild soap and soft cloths
  • Inspection interval: every 3 to 6 months for fleet vehicles
  • Replacement: sooner if panels are damaged, faded or lifted

If a fleet vehicle gets scratched, dented or resprayed, it is best to have the affected area checked before a new graphic is fitted. That avoids mismatched edges and wasted material, and it keeps the final result tidy.

Why Gauteng Clients Book Their Fitments With Us

Because we manufacture, print and install under one roof, we can keep the fitment process organised from the start. That helps with timing, colour consistency and repeat orders. It also means clients from Boksburg, Benoni, Germiston, Kempton Park, Alberton, Springs, Edenvale and Midrand can get a practical local service without sending vehicles all over the place.

Our team works on commercial signage every day, so we understand how vehicle branding has to function in the real world. It needs to be visible on the road, readable in parking lots and durable enough for daily use. That is the standard we work to, whether it is one delivery van or a mixed fleet that needs a uniform look.

For a quote, send the vehicle details and the type of branding you need through the enquiry form on our contact page. We will take it from there, measure up if needed and set out the best fitment option for your job.
