Common Questions

If you are planning signage, printed clothing or fleet marking, these questions cover the usual steps, materials and turnaround times. Executive Screen Printers works from Boksburg and serves clients across Ekurhuleni and greater Gauteng with site surveys, manufacture and installation.

How do I start an order?

The usual first step is to send an enquiry through the contact page and tell us what you need, where it will be fitted, and the size if you have it. If you are unsure, we can help from there with a site survey, artwork setup and practical advice on what will work for your space and budget.

For many jobs, we also need a photo of the wall, gate, vehicle or board area so we can check fixing points, access and any issues with old adhesive or damaged surfaces. That helps us quote properly first time and avoid delay later on.

  • Commercial and shop signs
  • Estate agent boards and site boards
  • Vehicle lettering and fleet marking
  • T-shirts, overalls, ribbons and gifts

What kind of signs do you make?

We make a wide range of practical signage for businesses, contractors, estates and industrial sites. That includes cut vinyl lettering, name plates, safety signs, direction signs, corporate branding panels and board mounting for indoor or outdoor use.

If you need something for a workshop, factory yard or retail frontage, we can guide you on materials that suit South African weather conditions. Coastal humidity, strong sun and dust all affect how a sign performs, so it is worth choosing the right finish and fixing method from the start. For outdoor use, we often recommend materials that stand up well to heat, rain and regular cleaning.

  • Outdoor boards for fencing and building fronts
  • Door and wall name plates
  • Health and safety notices
  • Refurbishment of older signs and vinyl removal

How long does production usually take?

Lead times depend on the job type, artwork approval and whether installation is needed. A simple cut vinyl order may move faster than a full board sign with mounting, while fleet marking, silkscreen printing and larger site work can take a bit longer.

Once we have your details, we confirm the practical time frame and let you know if a site survey is needed before manufacture starts. We do our best to keep things moving, but weather, load-shedding, curing time and access to the site can all affect scheduling. If the job is urgent, say so in the enquiry and we will see what can be done.

  • Small indoor items: often quicker turnaround
  • Vehicle work: depends on fitment time and curing
  • Large boards: allow for measuring, making and install
  • Printed garments: quantity and artwork affect timing

Which areas do you serve?

We are based in Boksburg on the East Rand and work across Ekurhuleni and greater Gauteng. That includes Boksburg, Benoni, Germiston, Kempton Park, Alberton, Springs, Edenvale and Midrand, plus surrounding business areas when the job suits the route and scope.

For larger installs or fleet work, we can arrange delivery service or installation on site. If the sign is for a location with strict access rules, an estate, a municipal area or a busy commercial property, please mention that early so we can plan the visit properly. It saves time and usually avoids extra trips.

  • Kempton Park, Edenvale and Alberton
  • Springs and the wider East Rand
  • Midrand and other Gauteng business districts

What materials do you use for signs and printing?

The right material depends on where the item will live, how long it must last and how often it will be cleaned or moved. We work with durable board substrates, cut vinyl, printed media and silkscreen inks for garments and promotional items. For outdoor signs, we look at sun exposure, water, fixing points and whether the site is affected by dust or high traffic.

For clothing and gifts, silkscreen printing is a practical choice for repeat orders and clear branding. For signs, some jobs are better suited to permanent fixing while others need removable vinyl or maintenance visits. If you already know the use case, tell us. If not, we can talk it through and recommend a suitable option without over complicating it.

Do you install and maintain signs as well?

Yes, we handle vehicle fitment, sign installation, board mounting, maintenance visits and sign refurbishment. Our installation foreman plans the job with the workshop so the made item fits properly on site and holds up under real use.

This matters for roadside boards, fleet branding and high-visibility work where fixing quality and placement are just as important as the artwork. We also remove old vinyl when a panel needs updating or a vehicle is being rebranded. A clean removal and proper surface prep make a big difference to the finish.

Our team includes Lerato Mokoena in sales, Johan Pretorius in production, Nokuthula Dlamini in client care, Sibusiso Khumalo on installations, Ayesha Patel on design and Pieter Erasmus in the workshop. Michael Johannes van der Merwe oversees the business, and the whole crew is used to handling practical signage jobs, not just the easy ones.

What should I prepare before I send an enquiry?

A few details make quoting much easier. If you have measurements, artwork, photos or a rough sketch, send them through with the enquiry form. If you do not have artwork ready, just explain the wording, the size of the board or garment and where it will be used.

It also helps to mention whether the item is for indoor or outdoor use, whether it needs to be removed later, and if the site has height limits, permits or access restrictions. For estate boards, municipal areas and road-facing signage, the location rules can matter more than people expect. The more practical detail you provide, the quicker we can get to the right answer.

  • Approximate size and quantity
  • Location and surface type
  • Indoor or outdoor use
  • Any deadline, event date or site restriction

Questions we get asked

Can you help if I only have a rough idea and no artwork?

Yes. Send the wording, size, location and a photo if you have one, then we can assist with artwork setup and advise what will suit the site.

Do you handle both one-off signs and repeat orders?

Yes. We work on single signs, fleets, repeat branding runs and printed clothing orders for businesses that need the same item again later.

Can you work on site outside Boksburg?

Yes. We serve Ekurhuleni and greater Gauteng, including Benoni, Germiston, Kempton Park, Alberton, Springs, Edenvale and Midrand, depending on the job.
